Youth

Faith Youth Incorporated (FYI) is Faith Lutheran Church’s youth group for 7th-12th graders. FYI holds monthly events and also participates in ELCA Synod events throughout the year. This year has been a productive, fun, and spiritual year in the lives of our youth at Faith. We ventured to Six Flags in August, went miniature golfing in September, and prepared homeless dinners in the winter. The calendar sales helped fund our retreats and participation in Synod events. We also awarded Sara Herbst the Faith Founders Scholarship to assist in her continued studies at the University of Virginia. We hope to grow the youth program in 2009 both in the number of youth and type of program.
Confirmation Camp

Faith’s youth went to our synod confirmation camp this summer, to be held at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp, Fort Valley, VA. Camp will be from June 27 through July 2. This year, the theme of the camp was “The Exodus.” In addition to learning, there will be lots of fun activities and fellowship with other youth from around the Metro DC Synod.
